LiveQA (“we”) runs live audience Q&A. This policy explains what we collect and why. We aim to collect as little as possible.
What we collect
- Hosts: when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo to identify your account and your sessions.
- Attendees: joining a session requires no account. We store the questions and upvotes you submit, plus an optional display name you choose. A random anonymous identifier is kept in your browser so you can’t vote twice from one device.
- Operational data: standard server logs and limited metrics (session and question counts) to run and improve the service.
How we use it
To operate sessions, rank questions, enforce plan limits, prevent abuse, and support you. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.
Students & schools
LiveQA is free for education and is designed so attendees stay anonymous — students don’t create accounts. Schools and educators are responsible for how they use the tool with students and for any applicable consent (e.g., FERPA/COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond the question text a participant chooses to type. Educators should avoid prompting students to share personal information in questions.
Retention
Session content is retained according to the host’s plan (24 hours on Free, 30 days on Education) and then becomes eligible for deletion. Hosts can close a session at any time.
Your choices
Hosts can delete their sessions, which removes the associated questions and votes. To request deletion of account data, email hello@liveqa.app.
Service providers
We use Supabase (database, auth, realtime) and Google (sign-in) to provide the service. Data is processed on our behalf under their terms.
Changes
We’ll update this page as the product evolves and note the date above. Contact hello@liveqa.app with any questions.
